Artemas Just Wants You to Feel Something

Dark pop just got a few shades darker with Artemas’ latest intoxicating drop, “just want you to feel something.” Capturing the debilitation of a one-sided relationship, the self-produced single is another puzzle piece to an impending project that will mark a drastically new era for the artist.

London’s very own Artemas can’t help but be sinister, teasing you with his unwillingness to ease. Reminiscent of 2012 The Weeknd vibes, there’s a bite to “just want you to feel something” that lingers after you listen. It’s a departure from the alt-pop he introduced himself as artistically, though it settles very authentically.

The single refers to the chill of surviving a heartbreak that the other person seems unphased by, begging them to suffer so you know you didn’t make it all up. It’s a kind of pain you only let yourself drown in once, and the song perfectly encapsulates the numbing of its poison.

Racking up millions of streams as an independent artist isn’t a feat to downplay, speaking to the eccentricity of Artemas’ sound. Accompanied by “cross my heart,” “if u think i’m pretty,” and the newly-released “prettygrunge.wav,” both his crooning vocals and production seem to only mature as he steps into an even grander iteration of himself. With his first-ever headline show slated for Valentine’s Day at London’s The Lower Third, Artemas is only getting started.
