Sughn Carves Out a Delicate "safe space" in Ethereal Single

True love is not a flat sense of bliss; that would be too easy. True love is fear, thirst, desperation, and a gravitational pull to their scent. Dreadfully romantic, “safe space” is Sughn’s indie folk masterpiece that perfectly encapsulates this very longing.

Born in California, raised in Texas, Sughn is humbly reintroducing herself to the music space. Her voice is a soft yet destabilizing force, carrying the weight of her transition from indie duo Sun and Moon to a solo act. Able to waft in between R&B and folk with minimal effort, she’s a self-produced siren currently building out a highly anticipated debut studio album.

Making the sweetest love to the unknown, “safe space” is what it feels like to find a home in someone. It can be scary to feel the depth of such an unfamiliar feeling, though there isn’t much choice but to succumb. The song is not a single note above the bare essentials, with only the haunting of her voice and an acoustic guitar to tell the story.

The emotions on this track are palpable, quickly proving to be Sughn’s specialty. As she continues to pen the most devastating and gorgeous songs you’ve likely ever heard, she’s healing the hearts that didn’t once have the sonic language to feel seen.
