The Dirty Nil - "Evil Side" | Northside Sessions

The Dirty Nil is conquering the world one show at a time, and with 350 shows played around the world over the past three years, they are well on their way. Emerging from Hamilton, Ontario, The Dirty Nil cut their teeth playing the dingiest and dirtiest of dive bars before they found themselves opening for and studying some of their own idols. Sharing arena and festival stages with the likes of Against Me!, FLAG, and Billy Talent, The Dirty Nil is living up to one of front man Luke Bentham's trademark remarks, "We don't really label ourselves other than just... the best band. That's our genre!"

So, we obviously had to invite "the best band" out to perform "Evil Side," taken from The Dirty Nil's acclaimed sophomore album, Master Volume. Filling our Toronto performance space with their stadium-worthy sound founded upon the most brilliant of rock and roll fantasies, it was easy to see why The Dirty Nil went home with a "Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of the Year." Plus, it doesn't hurt that, in our exclusive interview, we got to see the guys behind the band know how to kick back a joke or several.
