Most recently winning her first ever GRAMMY Award (Best Dance Recording – “Don’t Let Me Down” with The Chainsmokers), being the youngest honoree on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list and debuting at #5 on Billboard’s “21 under 21” list, eighteen-year-old Daya is driving pop music down a different path. Her latest single “Sit Still, Look Pretty” is currently climbing the charts, sitting in the Top 15 on the iTunes chart and Top 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Featured on her debut EP Daya, her first single “Hide Away” is platinum-certified – and quickly approaching double platinum status – garnering more than 205 million streams on Spotify.
Daya took 2016 by storm, with Rolling Stone naming her one of their “10 New Artists You Need to Know,” as well as a number of high-profile performances on Dancing with the Stars, TODAY Show, Good Morning America, the Radio Disney Music Awards and at the White House’s annual Easter Egg Roll.
She released her gold-certified debut full-length album, Sit Still, Look Pretty – which Entertainment Weekly and the New York Times both called one of the most highly-anticipated albums of the fall.
February 13, 2017 We sat down with Daya just days before The Grammys to get the scoop on her background, goals, the secret to creating pop music, & what we can expect on the Sit Still, Look Pretty tour.
