Psychedelic / R&B / Soul
Nick Hakim translates his music’s old soul into a modern sound by seamlessly blending out-of-the-box experimental and psychedelic soul sounds. After graduating from Boston’s Berklee College of Music, Hakim relocated to Brooklyn where he began a month-long residency at Baby’s All Right. The venue offered an intimate setting for Hakim to perform his two debut EPs, ‘Where Will We Go Pt. I’ & ‘Where Will We Go Pt. II,’ which garnered significant praise upon their respective releases in 2014. Hooked on his predominantly acoustic sound, fans eagerly await the release of his first debut album Green Twins out May 19, 2017. Hakim gave listeners a taste of what’s to come with the first lift off the upcoming release, “Bet She Looks Like You.” His Jeff Buckley-esque voice captures hearts over sparkling synths and drawling guitar riffs, pointing to an equally as compelling debut album.
