Dreamy. Funky. Smooth. Warm. These are just a few words that seem all too fitting for up-and-coming duo, FARR, comprising vocalist Roméo and producer Linden Jay.
Roméo grew up in Los Angeles, and Linden was born and raised in London, but with the aid of modern technology, the two-piece has managed to create an impressive debut single. While they are incredibly fresh on the scene, the music speaks for itself.
“Last May, Linden and I were blindly booked into a session in NW London. We got into the room and started bouncing around ideas, eventually writing this first single, ‘Down.’ It was the first step towards an undeniable artistic chemistry, which quickly led to the creation of FARR. It’s just the beginning.”
“We’ve been writing non-stop since we met, constantly bouncing ideas back and forth. It was clear that despite the London/LA divide, this was more than just a one time collaboration. ‘Down’ was the first track we wrote together, so naturally it feels right to release it first.”
“Down” delivers a twist on alternative pop and electronic soul. The production completely changes in the pre-chorus, adapting a funky beat that builds into the chorus. FARR’s groove and warm ambiance emanating from synths will break the duo into the indie and electronic circles alike. Their modern, edgy sound in “Down” sets them up for an interesting and refreshing forthcoming EP.
Be on the lookout for new music from FARR. Their second single, “Blades,” is set to be released next month.
“Down” will be available on April 7, but in the meantime, your exclusive stream is below.
