Meet Mosie - a pair of disco-funk loving dudes who met on campus at Berklee’s College of Music. Shortly after their first year of meeting, the two quickly went to work building what would become their debut album. Entitled Tangerine, the album is set to release on March 14. As their first single off the album, Mosie has shared “look@ugo” with Ones To Watch exclusively before its March 1 debut. “look@ugo” is a pretty sweet sample of what’s to come from these funk masters. Of the track, Mosie shares this quote:
“‘look@ugo’ was one of the last songs to come together for Tangerine, and we think it is a good representation of where we are headed back to the future. We hope you feel the love that went into this project.”
Reminiscent of modern pop-soul duo Cherub and the beloved 70s Ruben and the Jets, Mosie has crafted a dance-worthy tune that’s flexed with funk. With a rugged edge that’s been dipped in hip-hop beats, laced with lush synths, and dripping with honeyed falsetto, “look@ugo” is packing punch. It’s a track that will make you get up on that dance floor and bust out your best moves.
Comprised of Boston-based singer songwriter Jesse LeVines and musician and producer Aidan Brody, Mosie hopes to tell the story of new-age romance and heartache through a vivid, dreamy, and sometimes comical narrative. You can see the guys at the DMNDR House Showcase at SXSW on March 15 where they will perform alongside Anna Wise, Noah Slee, CAPYAC, Slum Sociable, and Madison McFerrin.
