5 Artists We're Head in the Clouds For at HITC LA 2023

We’re only a couple days out until the most anticipated Asian music festival of the year, Head in The Clouds. The festival returns to Los Angeles for their fifth year and they’re surpassing their notability every single time. Hats off to HITC for the particular and well-thought-out set times. The minimal set time clashes are god sent. Here are five artists we will be rushing to the barricade for.

Spence Lee

SET TIME: SATURDAY, 8/05 | 3:10 PM - 3:40 PM @ Honda Double Happiness Stage

If the 90-degree weather isn’t hot enough for you, Spence Lee will definitely have you blazin' from the heat he’s going to bring to his set. We caught up with the rapper during his debut performance at Head in The Clouds NY, Spence shares “There's room for you. Your voice deserves to be heard, and your story deserves to be heard. Everybody's voice matters, especially when you have the passion and drive for it.” The Eardrummers and 88 Rising signee may be new to the stage but his deliberate lyrics will have you feeling like you’ve been with his journey since the beginning.

dhruv

SET TIME: SATURDAY, 8/05 | 8:15 PM - 8:50 PM @ Honda Double Happiness Stage

No double-takes here. We have our eyes set on dhruv. When we last caught up with him during the release of his debut EP rapunzel, he shared "Music has always been the way that I reclaim my sense of autonomy. I’m not good at talking about myself, but music gives me agency." How beautifully said. And to see him perform that type of emotion live would be an absolute experience. Pulling influences from Frank Ocean, 2000s pop radio, and an eclectic mix of Bollywood music, dhruv’s efforts have established himself as an undeniable one to watch.

Zior Park

SET TIME: SUNDAY, 8/06 | 3:55 PM - 4:40 PM @ Honda Double Happiness Stage

Always complaining you want something new AND different to listen to? You got it. The eccentric red-headed singer and rapper is the one for you. He is a fusion of pop and precisely everything else. There is not one song that sounds the same and that's what keeps Zior Park such an intriguing artist to follow. His unique fashion and energy presents themselves in his top hit CHRISTIAN,' singing lines like "I just bought a Christine, it's blinging on my body." He is without a doubt full of surprises so why not test out your curiosity?

Lyn Lapid

SET TIME: SUNDAY, 8/06 | 5:20 PM - 5:50 PM @ Honda Double Happiness Stage

We've all heard the term 'situationship' by now. If not, we truly envy you! The intricate singer-songwriter, Lyn Lapid's latest EP to love in the 21st century is an absolute ode to the messy modern-day experience that is love. We've been following Lapid since her big hit "In My Mind" and have been loving her since. She draws inspiration from Gen Z romantic comedies like To All The Boys I've Loved Before and The Summer I Turned Pretty to tell the story of how she fell in and out of love for the first time. Nothing like a summer set about one of the most significant moments of our lives. If you see us crying, no we're not.

grentperez

SET TIME: SUNDAY, 8/06 | 6:25 PM - 7:00 PM @ Honda Double Happiness Stage

Our recent podcast guest (coming soon) and OTW showcase star grentperez never fails to bless his fans with his contagious and uplifting personality. If there’s anything you need to experience, it’s the crowd’s energy at any the rising star's set. From back of the house to the front, every fan is singing their hearts out while every new one is jumping from all the energy in the room. The "Silver Lining" singer has taken his career by storm by releasing hit after hit all while headlining his own tour then opening for Rex Orange County soon after. Now, he's taking the Double Happiness stage to make his festival debut!
