Jak Bannon Searches For Change and Happiness in Debut Single "THE TRADE"

Jak Bannon is the very definition of a relentless creative. Finding his start traveling alongside musical icon Diddy and collaborating with the likes of Dr. Dre, Gibson Hazard, Aidan Cullen, and more, his next step forward sees him returning to his first true passion, music.

"THE TRADE" arrives as the debut single from Bannon, and it would be a praise-worthy offering for any artist, regardless of what stage they find themselves at in their career. Suffice it to say, rarely does a debut single feel so fleshed-out and pristine.

Balancing elements of delicate electronic production, dynamic instrumentation, and lulling vocals, "THE TRADE" is an enveloping atmosphere unto itself. Bannon's wistful vocals intermingle as flittering flights of production and swelling instrumentation wash over you, whisking you into his somber daydream.

Even at its most picturesque, there is a persistent melancholy to "THE TRADE." In Bannon's own words, "'THE TRADE' is about the struggle of making tough choices in my life. I knew there were things I needed to change to find happiness, but making those changes did not come easy."

Backed by faint key presses, the final moments of "THE TRADE" fade away, leaving Bannon and the listener alone with an existential meditation. As those final seconds play out, Bannon slowly steps out of focus and into his creative calling.
