Brooklyn-based quartet Crumb is altering what you know about modern psychedelic rock. The band bends psychedelic rock and jazz influences to mold and shape their hazy sound. Though they are relatively new to the scene, they are bold in their experimentation of sound and never hold back on letting their songs ring in hallucinatory wonder.
The band is made up of Lila Ramani, vocals and guitar; Brian Aronow, synth, keys, sax; Jesse Brotter, bass; and Jonathan Gilad, drums. Crumb came of existence in 2016 to develop and record songs that Ramani wrote in high school and college, which resulted in their first two EPs Crumb and Locket. The band then evolved over time and began touring and recording full time as a group. In 2019 Crumb released their first full-length project Jinx which stays true to the band’s psych-rock sound with hints of hypnotic jazz. The album consists of ten dizzying tracks that play out like a psychedelic daydream. The band is set to tour around North America later this year and we are excited to see what the future holds for the rising psych-rock group.June 17, 2019 Crumb’s debut arrives as their finest collection of work to date and quite possibly one of the best psych-rock jazz projects of recent memory.
