Greyson Chance was a trailblazer for singers hoping to get discovered on YouTube. Back in 2010, his performance of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" at his sixth grade talent show went viral. Overnight, Chance was flown to Los Angeles where he was signed and performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Later that year he released his hit single "Waiting Outside The Lines," which was all over the radio that fall. In 2011, Chance released Hold On 'Til The Night his debut album, and toured globally to promote it.
Chance took a two year hiatus from his music career. During that time, he studied at a university and fell back in love with music. He perfected his sound and released portraits, what he calls his debut album. Chance notes that portraits was the first time he was authentically and transparently himself on an album. His indie-pop tracks genuinely chronicles life as a young man, trying to navigate love and life.
