POESY is quickly becoming one of the most exciting new female voices. Influenced by innovative enigmatic artists like Kate Bush and Freddie Mercury, as well as 90s Alternative Rock queens PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, and Alanis Morissette, the Toronto-based artist has formed a gritty and unmistakable sound that demands to be heard.

Breaking into the mainstream music scene after stealing the judges’ hearts on season 1 of the hit Canadian television program THE LAUNCH, POESY collaborated with composer/producer Stephan Moccio (Miley Cyrus, Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne) to release her Top 40 debut single “Soldier of Love.” The songstress has since joined forces with acclaimed producer Gavin Brown (Metric, Three Days Grace, Billy Talent) to build on her sound and artistic vision.

Now, introducing herself to global audiences, POESY commands attention on her upcoming GLASSBOX CONFESSIONAL EP, out October 4 via Big Machine Records/Bell Media Inc. Over a backdrop of ethereal keys, evocative guitars, and off-kilter beats, POESY unleashes a siren wail that conjures nineties pop femme fatales and eighties rock goddesses—while showcasing a fierce independence and singular style all her own. Featuring an invitation into a vulnerable embrace on “Body Language,” the universal acceptance of “Any Human,” empowering, stadium-sized rock anthem “Strange Little Girl” and emergence of a confident, charismatic, and cathartic POESY on “Never Getting Rid of Me,” confessional lyrics hold literally nothing back as she cuts deep with every chorus.

Pairing inspiration from her favourite novels with vulnerable confessions from her own life, POESY’s dark and powerful alt-rock rhythms makes it possible to dance and cry and wonder and hope all at once. She is a mirror for her audience; a place where they can see their own struggles, fears, desires, and dreams. Put simply, POESY is a force.
