Transviolet is an LA-based quartet made up of vocalist Sarah McTaggart, multi-instrumentalist Michael Panek, drummer/producer Jonathan Garcia, and guitarist Judah McCarthy. The band’s first song, “Girls Your Age” popped online in the summer of 2015 announcing Transviolet’s arrival. “Girls Your Age” gained instant online traction with Sarah’s voice at once recalling the Lana, Lorde and Imogen Heap: sultry, measured, assured. Katy Perry praised the lyrics, Harry Styles tweeted his support, Ellie Goulding selected it for a spin on Beats1 and Twin Shadow delivered an exclusive remix. Their self-titled 2015 EP yielded three hits: “Girls Your Age” (11 million streams), “New Bohemia” (5.4 million streams), and “Bloodstream” (4.1 million streams).
Throughout 2016, Transviolet toured with LANY, supported Twenty One Pilots on the UK tour, and captivated crowds at Firefly, Governors Ball, SXSW, Reading and Leeds. They also appeared on The Late Late Show with James Cordon and the Today Show. In 2017, Transviolet delivered their much-anticipated sophomore release with "Kaleidoscopes" featuring Reo Cragun. The “Kaleidoscopes” music video was followed by videos for “The Hamptons,” “Astronaut” and “Pretty Head” which Transviolet produced and directed themselves. Hunkering down in the studio, they’ve spent most of 2018 creating their latest body of work, Valley (LP 2018).
