In 2012, the bi-coastal effort between Kelly Zutrau, Martin Sulkow and Joe Valle (they met while studying in New York) came to fruition. Their self-titled EP is a complex echo chamber lush with palpable joy, legitimately depressing reflection and at times, excellent humor (their official website is slyly titled kanyewet.biz). Wet is at once familiar and foreign, with influences ranging from The XX to Solange to Patsy Cline. Their debut album, Don't You was released in early 2016.
Vocalist Kelly Zutrau taking creative control resulted in a bolder sound, but one that will still leave you in a puddle of feels. Wet’s new album Still Run softens. The lyrics are simple and relatable, detailing the elation that comes with being in love and then the pain of a breakup. Wet is playing a show soon with Florence + The Machine at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harvey’s in Stateline, NV. Definitely not a concert you’ll want to miss.
