With influences in country, punk, and rock & roll, Jesse Jo Stark jokes that she’s coined her music “horrific hillbilly” – yet there’s absolutely nothing horrific about it. The LA born-and-raised songstress delivers a sound so different from today’s mainstream that it doesn’t leave room for classifications, carving her own path with sultry, Lana Del Rey-esque vocals and a psychedelia-infused band rocking out behind her.
Jesse Jo Stark released her debut collection, the Dandelion EP, on June 22. We were lucky enough to host Stark & her band for a live showcasing of the new tracks, followed by an interview where she explains what we can expect on the full-length set to release this fall. Watch the band’s live performance of “Dandelion” above, and don’t miss Jesse Jo Start on tour wth The Vaccines through mid-October. Grab your tickets here!
