Billie O' Connell, better known as Billie Eilish, may just be pop music's most successful 15-year-old. Signed to the prestigious Interscope Records, this California native has been releasing songs since she was barely a teenager. With several million listens on all of her released songs, an official feature on the hit Netflix series Thirteen Reasons Why, and a sold out show in London on the horizon, Eilish's forthcoming EP is one of the most anticipated electro-pop albums of the year.
Along with teasing the new EP release, Eilish dropped her 6th single today. Titled "watch," the new song is one of Eilish's most catchy pieces. Contrasted with her other singles like "Six Feet Under" and "Ocean Eyes," which are more sultry songs reminiscent of Lorde, "watch" is a highly relatable break-up anthem.
In the chorus, Eilish confidently proclaims, "I'll sit and watch your car burn with a fire that you started in me." The aggressive, detailed nature of the lyrics makes it difficult to believe that this singer-songwriter is under 30-let alone 15-years-old. The production, provided by Eilish's 19-year-old brother Finneas, is simple but it serves to bring out Eilish's huge harmonies and creative lines.T
