Philadelphia-born and raised, Bri Steves brings a sound that is all her own to the rap game, pulling inspiration from the ‘90s while still embracing the hybrid sounds of today’s hip-hop and R&B artists.
Steves is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer with her hand on the pulse of future rap. She has gained early tastemaker support with her hit singles “Jealousy,” “Late Night,” and “Miami” from The Fader, Revolt TV, Complex, and Hypebeast. Her heavy hitter single “Jealousy,” has racked up over 1.5 million streams and solidified her as one of Youtube’s “Trending Artist on the Rise” in October 2018. Steves has performed with greats like Kendrick Lamar at his headline festival set at Made in America and is currently touring with H.E.R. for the “I Used To Know Her” Tour in the fall 2018. Steves continues to make a difference in the rap game with her sharp rhymes and unstoppable drive.
We caught up with Bri Steves during her hectic touring schedule to talk about everything from being a fan of Chance the Rapper, loving Uber Eats, and hooking us up with the best rising ones to watch out of Philly.
