Indie soft-rock act Cape Francis is the musical brainchild of Kevin Olken Henthorn. The former frontman of the now defunct indie pop-rock collective, Stone Cold Fox, released his graceful solo debut LP, Falling Into Pieces, in 2017. The 9-track collection was motivated by tantalizing yet emotionally impactful arrangements across dreamlike electric guitars, polished basslines, and effective efforts behind the keys. It was a blissful place to lay your head down to, but offered a destination to regenerate your life if you found yourself stumbling off the desired path.
Currently based in New York City, Cape Francis resurfaced in mid-November with his stunning single titled “Nobody.” It’s another brilliant outing for the singer-songwriter who is proficient in balancing refined folk echoes with indie-pop elements that result in compelling appeal and charm. The streams of “Nobody” flow with serenity and calmness delivering crisp sonic arrangements, warm melodies, and pacifying vocals for listeners to return to time and time again.
Accompanying his recent release is the music video for ‘Nobody.’ It’s an aesthetically gorgeous visual clip that captures the feeling of escapism from the chaos that exists inside and outside one’s immediate surroundings. Filmed in Henthorn’s homegrown state of Maine, the locale is a far departure from the hectic and demanding lifestyle that NYC carries with it. In the video, Cape Francis is taking his bike out for a stroll through the vast landscape of rivers, woods, and the great outdoors. The short film vividly depicts an existence outside the pandemonium that city living often bestows to a more unperturbed and awe-inspiring rural setting.

Cape Francis detailed the making of the video as well as the track’s overall theme with us,
“Making the ‘Nobody’ music video was an amazing experience. It was one of those projects that just came together within days and felt effortless. I got to work with one of my best friends Fil Kotsishevskiy who shot and colored the video. We got to shoot the entire thing around my hometown of Freeport, Maine, and with the leaves in full fall force we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. Taking this up to Maine felt only fitting for this song, which centers around escapism and finding time to reflect. Maine has always served that purpose for me, in a way, it’s a small tribute to my hometown.”
Cape Francis will be releasing his sophomore LP in early 2019 via Sleepwell Records. He will follow up the album with a soon to be announced spring tour. Stay updated on future releases and tour dates on Cape Francis’ Facebook page.
