In addition to writing absurdly charming and introspective songs, Melbourne rocker Courtney Barnett is a talented illustrator. She created the artwork for her debut album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit along with a series of pieces to accompany various songs on the album. This week, Barnett’s work was put on display at Ludlow Studios in New York. The gallery featured photography from her tour as well as an illustrated series of chairs by Barnett. Guests were also treated to DJ sets from Torres and Speedy Ortiz and got Courtney Barnett fortune cookies. Unfortunately for us West Coasters we could only experience the gallery through pictures. See below for the chair series.
