Rising hip-hop/R&B artist DaniLeigh has solidified her place on the scene with her latest release, The Plan. The Dominican-American, South-Florida native is not one to mess with as each song on the album is an affirmation to her talents and vision.

Starting off strong with “The Plan,” DaniLeigh showcases her ambient flow while confessing her strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations, noting that no one will get in the way of her plan. Moving into the fun, uptempo track “Can’t Relate” featuring YBN Nahmir and YG, she continues to express unparalleled attitude while “Be Yourself” is a steady celebration of being who you are, especially since each person is “one of a kind.”

Though “Cruz” is more of a momentary interlude track containing sultry lyrics and a hard 808, it perfectly sets up the following track “Do It To Me,” a soft, intimate track that puts you in a subtle trance, similar to what being in love can feel like. From feeling in love to being in lust, the mood quickly becomes a bit more cheeky with “Don’t Mean Nothin” as it revolves around the idea that emotions are fleeting so just enjoy what you feel in the moment. “Family Only” is DaniLeigh’s way of telling others to back off of her come-up and that her riches are only for her family to enjoy, while “Blue Chips,” a previously released single, uses the poker term to identify that she is a valuable artist giving people only the best of her art.

“Easy” keeps the soulful vibes going with punchy drums and sizzling hi hats that contrast with her delicate vocal performance. The Spanish-language song “Yo No Se” featuring Bill$ is their take on a relationship that fell apart, but one person can’t seem to find complete release. The other previously released bop “Lil Bebe,” as well as the remixed version with Lil Baby, carries such superior temper to it while the final track “I Do It 4” featuring Lil Yatchy is a much more humbling song paying homage to all the people in both DaniLeigh and Lil Yatchy’s lives that they credit their grind and success.

The Plan is DaniLeigh’s statement to her rise on the music scene. Noting on the title track that she’s “too hungry to wait,” DaniLeigh will never be limited to any box or expectation. She’s making her own moves and rules. Watch DaniLeigh serve killer moves and vocals at our All Eyes On event and witness the talents that caught the eye of the late-great performing artist Prince.
