dinnerdate. Remixes Lana Del Rey

Munich-based producer dinnerdate (born Simon Hoppe) has accomplished a rare feat in his new remix of Lana Del Rey’s Ultraviolence ballad ”Black Beauty.” Whereas most examples of remixing Lana result in fast-paced, club-engulfing beats - the most omnipresent example being Calvin Harris’ “Summertime Sadness” - dinnerdate’s version keeps the tempo out of the club and Del Rey’s vocals intact, if only enhancing their quality of seeming to float towards us from a gramophone. Hoppe pegs this remix as a representation of the signature sound he has been working on, which falls favorably in the “chill/future/bass movement.” Hear it above, and get more dinnerdate here.
