Sunshine solace. Classic ‘70s discotheque. Tinted vintage sunglasses. Groovy summertime pool parties …These are just a few of the visuals inspired by Ishi’s brand new Juno EP, streaming exclusively on Ones To Watch today.
JT Mudd (lead singer, producer, writer) & Brad Dale (producer, writer, synth, guitar, bass) initially teamed up as a experiment aimed to “create a sound that would redefine their own voice in modern day music.” Well, the music proved tried and true as the band produced two successful albums, Through the Trees (May 2010) and Digital Wounds (April 2013), as well as brought on three new members: Jonathan Merla (drums, percussion), Rocky Ottley (guitar) and Paul Escalante (guitar) to the band.
Juno is the band’s third EP, and it serves as a telling display of their steady evolution in the pleasant niche between funk, nu disco, and soulful indie rock. The band commented,
“Releasing a new body of work is always exciting. The EP explores funky vibes that reveal new ways of how to express our soul.”
Not only that, but the album is devoted to a charitable cause, as 50% of all digital sales will go directly to Music Is Our Weapon’s effort to provide music programs for those suffering from Alzheimers, dementia, PTSD, Autism, Parkinsons, and other cognitive disorders.
The band is taking the record on the road this fall, where they’re expected to create a multi-sensory, immersive live experience that will simultaneously stimulate and uplift audiences at all stops below:
