Two parts Irish, two parts Canadian. Funky instrumentation and disco basslines with underlying pop sensibilities. Indie-alternative soundscapes encompassing soulful melodies. These are just a few components of ROMES, a truly eclectic soul-pop quartet based in Toronto. Their latest comes in the form of an intimate live performance video, and Ones To Watch has your first look today.

Jacob Alexander, Nicolas Amadeus, James Tebbitt and Andrew Keyes initially unveiled "Deju Vu" in February 2017, serving as an impactful follow-up to the band's debut EP, Believe. The original single embodies a dynamic combination of bands that ROMES has often been compared to, such as COIN, The 1975, and The Strokes, with a splash of HAIM.

The live video adds a whole new  dimension to "Deja Vu," with a casual camera pan through the studio giving us inside look at the bandmates' personalities and high-energy performance styles. ROMES expanded,

"We’re constantly experimenting with new ideas for our live performances. Every show is a new experience for both the audience and for us. It’s much more exciting that way and keeps things fresh. This live version of 'Deja Vu’ is what we were feeling at the time we went into Orange Lounge in Toronto. You’ll probably never hear it again like this at one of our shows."
