Get Me Right - Theophilus London
Theophilus London isn’t kidding when he says his new album is a product of all good vibes. The confident, musical chemistry between London’s voice and Kanye West’s production is tangible throughout this record. Not gonna lie, it was a tie between this track and “Can’t Stop” ft. Kanye himself dropping some old-school feeling verses, but this electric soul jam took the cake for our favorite track.
Freak - Olivver
Olivver the Kid has been causing quite a stir lately in L.A. with his jazzy spin on electro-pop, delivering single after single showing off his dexterity within the electronic R&B spectrum. We were pretty caught off guard with this sucker of a track, a quiet one for night drives which we’ve pretty much broken our replay button on for the afternoon. Ah, young love.
May As Well - Angel Olsen
A bonus track to Angel Olsen’s Burn Your Fire For No Witness, “May As Well” plays out like a folk song from the 1930s, complete with all the lilting creaks and hushed static in the corners. We love it even if it didn’t make the cut.
Close Talker - For The Sun
Our favorite new indie find, Close Talker, evokes beach and desert vibes with their new single “For The Sun,” which swims in early The Shins influences.
Scylla - RL Grime
Just in time for your Halloween party, RL Grime’s delivers a nerve-y new track to fuel your fun times. While the producer has diversified with recent collaborations, including one with How To Dress Well, here he’s at home laying down the kind of hard noise he rose to prominence with.
