Five For Friday: SBTRKT, BadBadNotGood,Tinashe, & Cosmic Trap

Fridays can be a bit rough, which is why we’ve rounded up our favorite end of the week tracks here for your listening. Tune in below.

1. “Higher” - SBTRKT ft. Raury

London producer SBTRKT has a way of picking them, and wherever his interests wander, the spotlight is sure to follow. Case in point: Atlanta rapper Raury, whom Aaron Jerome features in “Higher” off his newest album.

2. “Gunshowers” - BadBadNotGood ft. Ghostface Killah

Today, Toronto-based jazz producers BadBadNotGood announced Sour Soul a new album exclusively featuring Ghostface Killah. To go along with this announcement, the team have released a new track titled “Gunshowers,” a perfectly promising capture of what we can expect the record to be.

3. “Aquarius” - Tinashe

The title track off Tinashe’s debut album Aquarius is our favorite song off the record because of the way it enticingly beckons us into the singer’s world. Produced by Ritz Reynolds, the song features a simmering ethereal backdrop for Tinashe to paint her thoughts and feelings for us to witness.

4. “Waves” - Gosh Pith

Detroit electronic outfit tag their music as “cosmic-trap” and we don’t think there’s any better introduction to this unique sound as this song. Hear it and grab a free download above.

5. “Building It Still” - James Blake

James Blake revealed a new track on his BBC Radio 1 Residency. Titled “Building It Still,” the track tries its hand at various jazz starts before settling for a different train of thought. Hear it below.
