Future Thieves Share 5 Emerging Alt-Rock Musicians

For the short time that Nashville outfit Future Thieves have been together (a grand total of two years), they have made quite the statement in the live event sphere. The alternative rock four-piece has been busy racking up fans with performances at Bonnaroo, Summerfest, and SXSW to packed rooms throughout the United States.

It's no surprise then that the band wanted to capture their live sound and undeniable energy in their forthcoming album, Live at Blue Rock, set to be released January 13. The album was recorded in under 60 minutes at a live show at Blue Rock Studios in Wimberley, Texas. It will feature the melodic rock songs from their debut album Horizon Line as well as four unreleased songs and their new single, "Ghosts."

While we wait for the new album, the guys have handpicked five of their favorite alt-rock artists, along with personal commentary, for your listening pleasure.

Liz Cooper and the Stampede

“Liz is our drummer, Gianni’s roommate, and a terrific artist. This song features our singer Elliot, and they wrote it at 4am a year or two back in a bathroom.”

Guthrie Brown

“We’ve toured with Guthrie and his amazing band. Really, really, really good band with great songs and an intense live show; can’t wait to play our Christmas show in Nashville with them on Dec.16.”

Blue Healer

“We played with Blue Healer at SXSW last year and fell in love with their sound. They are incredibly unique and their show is a journey of melodies.”

The Shrine

“Gianni knows the singer from back in LA and have been in that scene together. Their new album is called Rare Breed and kicks ass.”

Elliot Root

“We met the gang in Murfreesboro, TN, and were extremely impressed with their live set and how it moved through each song. Very good band we’d love to play with again soon.”
