Since the release of Alex Fleming's first single as Black Atlass in 2013, he has taken the fashion and music worlds quietly by storm. With fashion house Louis Vuitton tapping him to score a film, as well as an artist of the week mention in Vogue, Fleming was poised for launch into a coveted niche spot in music, a position artists dream of being in.
Since then, the Canadian singer and producer has laid low, with the exception of stepping out with the release of his Young Bloods EP on Fool's Gold Records last February. Today, Black Atlass unveiled Jade, billed as “the debut full-length project from Black Atlass," via his SoundCloud and on his website. The 10-song collection of R&B and hip-hop inspired songs, which slip in scintillating reworks of "Can't Tell Me Nothing" (on "Genevieve") and "'03 Bonnie & Clyde" (on "Blonde"), is available for free download on his website here.
