This week, Canadian electronic duo Electric Youth debuted a new song “Innocence” from their upcoming, as-yet-untitled album coming out next year. Just a warning: you’re probably going to get hooked. The song ignites as electronic minimalism in peak form, with a core melody driven by singer Bronwyn’s lilting, ethereal soprano. For those of you who aren’t familiar, Electric Youth is the band responsible for that one unforgettably haunting song from Drive, Nicolas Refn’s 2011 super thriller starring Ryan Gosling as a driver-hitman-human being. (It was called ”A Real Hero” and they recorded it with College). For all you Drive nerds out there, you’re welcome. Listen to “Innocence” (via Stereogum) below.
