ICYMI: Bazzi Wonders What Could Have Been on New Single, “Honest”

Bazzi is lined up to have a monumental 2018, and his forthcoming album is sure to play a big part of it. The singer-songwriter announced that his debut album will be released on April 12, and he treated fans with a new single to tide them over until that date arrives.

Bazzi’s “Honest” begins with a sparse, percussion heavy soundscape before opening up with wavy instrumentation and a distorted choir to enliven the production. The song’s music video contains the hazy, lo-fi visuals to match, setting the mood with underwater shots and television static.

Bazzi got his start on the once-popular social platform, Vine, even becoming the first artist to release a single on the app back in 2015. A guitar player since the age of six, Bazzi’s dream has always been to sell out arenas with his music, and he’s now well on his way to accomplishing that goal. In the past few years, the Detroit-bred singer has been busy climbing the charts with songs like “Why” and “Gone,” both of which will appear on the new album. Fans of his music will have the chance to catch him on tour with former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello, as well as Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza later this summer.
