Here at Ones to Watch, we're thrilled to watch rising indie-pop band COIN travel the country on The North American Tour 2018, and now they've released another track that's sure to be a highlight on the setlist. Their new song "Growing Pains" speaks on exactly what the title suggests, with lyrics that detail the struggles of coming of age.
"You'll never know what kind of person I'll become when you're gone," sings lead singer Chase Lawrence on the song's bridge, after spending most of the song describing his indecision and inner conflict. The joyous tone of the production contrasts the song's lyrical content, although the rough texture throughout subtly hints at his unease.
"Growing Pains" is COIN's first release since their 2017 album, How Will You Know if You Never Try, and carries much of the same sound that made the album such a success. The band gave the audiences a sneak preview of the song at their first few 2018 shows, but now that it's an official release, crowds are likely to react to the new song even more.
