"Mama used to joke and say 'It must be hard being you!' On the calm, that's the best part about being me," is just one of the standout lines in GrandeMarshall's new EP, RISK/REWARD. The eight-track project, released through Fool's Gold Records, features guest appearances from Tunji Ige and Pauly Sue as well as production touches by Noah Breakfast and Heaven In Stereo.
Produced by Marshall himself, the lead single
"Stress" is a low-tempo groove that intensifies
as the track progresses over four and a half minutes. The Philly-native raps
over beautiful synth horns that will easily win over some new fans.
Prior to dropping My Brother's Keeper last November, we initially heard Marshall back in 2012 with his debut mixtape 800, and then on 2013's Mugga Man. RISK/REWARD features some of Philadelphia's most creative minds in rap music. The EP is a must-listen for rap fans in Philly and beyond.
