Ones to Watch July Festival FOURcast introduces four United Sates festivals with lineups so irresistible that they inspire road trips.
Where: Milwaukee, WI
When: June 25th – July 6th
Official Site: http://www.summerfest.com/
The first festival on the FOURcast is the already in progress Summerfest. Summerfest boasts the impressive title of being the “World’s Largest Music Festival,” spanning a total of 11 days with 11 stages hosting upwards of 800 acts. The largest stage of the festival is the 23,000 capacity Marcus Amphitheater which will host acts from Outkast to Ones to Watch’s very own New Politics, who will be opening for Fall Out Boy. Check out the lineup at their official website above, and make sure to catch the performances of other Ones to Watch featured artists Blackberry Smoke, Moon Taxi, ZZ Ward, Walk off the Earth, and Jake Miller.
When: July 11th – 13th
Where: Saugerties, NY
Official Site: http://hudsonmusicproject.com/
The festival brewing on the FOURcast takes us to inland New York for the Hudson Project. 2014 is the debut year for the Hudson Project boasting an impressive lineup that leaves a music fanatic overwhelmed. This festival also remains the only one on the FOURcast to offer camping, a privilege held sacred to the most hardcore festival goers. The sporadic lineup basically offers artists from every genre including Kendrick Lamar, Bassnectar, Modest Mouse, Kygo, and more. This eclectic lineup continues to impress with the inclusion of two of Ones to Watch’s very own - Savoy and ZZ Ward.
Bunbury Music Festival
When: July 11th - 13th
Where: Cincinatti, OH
Official Site: http://www.bunburyfestival.com/
The Bunbury Music Festival was founded in 2011 and takes place the second full weekend in July each year. This three day festival brings the Coachella experience to the Midwest - complete with a craft brew village. The lineup treads more along the lines of indie alt-rock, boasting such headliners as Flaming Lips, Fall Out Boy, and Paramore. In the spirit of the Mid-Point Music Festival also held in Cincinnati, known for bringing in only unsigned musicians, Bunbury hosts an eclectic mix of new, smaller acts to the music scene. Ones to Watch standout’s New Politics and ZZ Ward will be in attendance.
Pitchfork Music Festival
When: July 18th – July 20th
Where: Chicago, Il
Official Site: http://www.pitchforkmusicfestival.com/
While this stands as the only festival lacking a Ones to Watch artist, Pitchfork Music Festival continues to announce notable lineups. Hosted in the music metropolitan capital of Illinois, Pitchfork lays its ground in the beautiful Chicago Union Park. This year is no different, beginning with the 2014 debut of the reunited Neutral Milk Hotel and continuing to impress with the likes of Tune-Yards, Danny Brown, St. Vincent, and many more.
