The latest release for Zimbabwe-born British artist KWAYE, Love & Affliction, brings his most personal music to date. The EP’s six tracks show off his eclectic music styling, with his ability to seamlessly flow into different genres. His previous releases have been streamed over fifteen million times, and with the new EP the number of fans is sure to rise.
One of the standout songs, and current single, “Paralyzed” KWAYE tells a story of his journey to live without judgement and becoming the person he’s always wanted to become. The music video for the single is visually captivating showcasing his true performance ability. KWAYE is also making his first-ever live performance debut on Oct. 30 at London’s OMEARA, with tickets already sold out.
KWAYE’s journey into music began when he was discovered in the back of an Uber while studying abroad at UCLA, taking classes in African-American studies and the music industry. Within a week of being in the United States, he met a producer, and the first thing they created together was a demo for what would become his breakout single “Cool Kids.” His former A&R executive Uber driver heard “Cool Kids” and passed it along to Mind of a Genius (Warner Brothers). MOAG provided KWAYE with a place to work and record, and within just a couple of weeks, he was the label’s first UK signing.
