Hailing from New Zealand, producer and songwriter BAYNK has captivated audiences with his tropical soft layered electronic arrangements. Since his breakout in 2016, single after single has become a hit. Now he debuts his collaborative single with UK vocalist & Ones To Watch darling Sinéad Harnett.
As a precursor to BAYNK’s upcoming EP, “Settle” showcases BAYNK’s signature pop insight along with textured electronic elements. The tight arrangement reveals some of his best work to date. Harnett enhances the track with her strikingly raw vocals giving the single a sensuous, passionate edge. BAYNK made sure to not overwhelm the poignant vocals Harnett provided by lowering production intensity. This let the words dictate the flow of the single and leave the listener in a minimalist airy ambiance.
BAYNK remembers what is was like to meet Sinéad Harnett and write the single,
“Meeting Sinéad for the first time was like seeing a friend I hadn’t seen in 10 years. Catching up about what we’d missed over the years led to settle being written. Can’t wait for you all to hear it; Sinead’s voice is incredible.”
Harnett adds her experience meeting and writing with the New Zealand producer,
“The first day I met BAYNK was the day we wrote ‘Settle.’ As soon as I walked into the room I felt like he was family. The story behind the song was based on the in between before you’re with someone and after you’ve started seeing each other. That dreaded unknown and the confession that you do want it to move forward. BAYNK’s clean heart translates in his music, and I’m so excited for us to do more together!”
Born Jock Nowell-Usticke, producer and songwriter BAYNK has been on a constant rise since his breakout. He has amassed 50MM+ Plays on Spotify to date. BAYNK’s early singles “About Me” and “Could You” caused a stir in 2016, with follow-up’s “What You Need” (featuring fellow NZ-native NÏKA) and “Poolside” further establishing BAYNK as one to watch. BAYNK has the ability to span various music styles while retaining the essence of ambition and subtle melancholy, all while effortlessly contributing to summery smooth tracks.
