Mills. Charts a Path to Never Doubting Your Dreams in "Crowns" Video [Premiere]

No matter how far you've gone in life, it's always important to remember where you've come from. Promising singer-songwriter Mills. is keeping that sentiment especially close to heart. The Kentucky-raised musician is making heartfelt pop music with the maturity and sophistication at a level that defies his age. He's just unveiled the visual accompaniment to "Crowns," one of the many rose-colored gems from his project Clashing Thoughts.

The video, directed by Leo the Shooter, depicts a serene Mills. He ventures around an open field in a blissful and blooming park. Surrounded by greenery, Mills. carries listeners through the casual harmonious journey of "Crowns." Donning a single gold necklace and signature mid-waist ankle grazing pants, he hits the ground at the song's melodious peak. At the same time, an animated crown flickers above his head. Mills. shared with us the meaning behind that little crown,

"I wrote 'Crowns' about people doubting their own dreams. You’re the only one who can make something happen in your life - if you want something bad enough and you work for it, it’ll happen. This song was written more so for myself."

Lyrically, "Crowns" was written in power and remembrance. It's an ode to the past as much as it's a gift to your future self. With it, Mills. is trying to embrace the things that made him himself and use that as motivation to keep pressing forward. Inspired by his older songwriter brother, Mills. actively tried his hand in music from a rather young age. And so far he's done pretty well for himself, coming off of tour opening for ROLE MODEL this past month. He ventured deeper into the song's overt strength saying,

"10 years from now I want to be able to listen to it and feel the same way I did the moment I wrote it. I never want to forget where I come from and everything that has happened leading up to where I am now, following my dreams. It’s hard to sit and wait for your time - that’s the toughest part. But, I’m going to stay true to myself and wait for everyone else to realize what’s good. That’s also the best part.“
