Nashville Newcomers

If you think Nashville is all about country music, you couldn’t be more wrong. If you know Nashville natives, Cherub, you already know that Music City isn’t all about cowboy boots and steel guitars. The artists who are really taking the music scene by storm come with electro-pop beats, hip-hop grooves, and americana soul.

Ones To Watch fans, meet Nashville’s newcomers: Moon Taxi, COIN, The Lonely Biscuits, and Judah & The Lion.

For fans of Vampire Weekend and Neon Trees

Why we’re watching: Potentially one of the highest energy acts on the Nashville scene, COIN is making waves in the indie electro-pop world. The band's song "It's Okay" had Pretty Little Liars fans rocking out when the song was featured on a recent episode.

For fans of G. Love & Special Sauce and James Morrison

Why were watching: No groove can touch that of the The Lonely Biscuits.  Rap verses mixed with soulful choruses are what got the band noticed outside of the Nashville scene and helped them take home MTV’s Woodie Award at SXSW last year.

Why we’re watching: A little bit Mumford and Sons and a little bit Zac Brown Band, Judah & the Lion is one of Nashville's fastest rising bands. You might have seen them on tour with fellow Nashville native Andrew Ripp, but be sure to check out the band's original EP "Sweet Tennessee" for a little bit of soul and a whole lot of banjo.
