2018 is set to be Denny White's year. After working with One Republic's Brent Kutzle on his debut EP, Colors, in 2013 and racking up millions of streams on Spotify, the California native is ready to make a big impact with his latest song, "Torn Up." Since moving to Los Angeles, Denny's musical career propelled and he found himself playing along diverse acts like Dawes or Young The Giant.
You are most likely already familiar with Denny's songwriting without knowing it. In fact, the singer wrote tracks for The Fray, Tiesto, and even Danish pop band Lukas Graham. Mixing pop and electro, the new record showcases his soulful vocals over layered melodic synths and we can't help but hitting the "replay" button.
In terms of influences, White revealed that his inspiration and creativity come from becoming a father for the first time and the challenges and reality that come with this new responsibility:
“It’s exciting and terrifying bringing a kid into this world and it’s brought new perspective to everything, whether it’s nostalgic feelings of when I was kid, or struggles with depression and how I need to be a better person for everyone around me."
Beside the honest and heartfelt side of the lyrics, the music video for "Torn Up" directed by David Orgill dives you into an ocean of colors with cinematic aesthetics, poetry, sunsets and dance moves. We totally fell in love with Denny White's universe and so will you.
