Have you ever listened to one song and instantly knew that the artist was destined for greatness? That was our case after discovering Rhys Lewis. Playing guitar since he was 13, the Oxfordshire born has always been passionate about music but only started singing when he joined his brothers’ band back in the days.

After playing gigs for a while, getting used to the scene and posting songs under the name of “Rhys Lewis and The Relics,” the singer decided to pursue a solo career and released his debut single “Waking Up Without You” over a year ago after getting his very first record deal with Decca Records. This first track is a tale of unrequited love which perfectly showcases Rhys’ husky voice, combined with guitar riffs à la James Bay and has been nicely welcomed on the Internet after reaching the top of the viral charts on Spotify.

The singer found his voice with the help from classic albums by Bill Withers, Eric Clapton and Led Zeppelin. Since his first release, Rhys released a batch of tracks containing thoughtful messages. “When I write music it’s like processing a feeling. I feel like I’ve dealt with something by putting my emotions into words. I can bare my soul,” he shared with Express

Lewis is not afraid of showing emotions and proves it with “I Know The Feeling” where he testifies dealing with a lot of rejection and knows what it’s like to lose motivation to reach and follow your dreams. The messages are real, efficient, and his releases turned a lot of heads in the music industry – racking up over 10 million streams on Spotify so far and counting.

Rhys opened for British sensation James TW on his last sold-out European tour, followed by a tour with JP Cooper. As fans kept asking for new dates, he is currently doing this own tour around Europe and if you are lucky to be in one of the countries he’ll be playing in, don’t miss it out. 2018 will be a good year for this promising new artist.
