Last year, Nightly was the opening act for K.Flay on her Crush Me Tour. They were newbies back then, but have since managed to win crowds over with their debut EP, Honest. Cousins Joey Beretta and Jonathan Capeci sought out to mix an urban feel with the quintessential rock band dynamic, making for a sound all their own.
The duo spends as much time curating and perfecting their live performances as they do in the studio with their music. Their live performance includes rows of specially-timed lights made to sync up with their music–giving crowds the eye candy that pairs perfectly with those earworms.
Nightly has been on the road for the last month and will continue touring on a co-headline tour with Urban Cone starting today in Cambridge, MA. If you happened to miss them on the first leg of the tour, the guys have shared a few diary entries with us below from two stops: Niagara Falls and their hometown, Nashville. See all upcoming dates here.
Jonathan: We shot a bunch of footage on an iPhone from our show in Niagara Falls and compiled it into this video to show “a day in the life.” The day starts with us singing a stripped version of our song "Talk to Me" in our hotel room.
Jonathan: Joey doing what he does best.
Jonathan: Us, outside the venue before the show. (Nashville)
Jonathan: Nashville is such a special city to us. We played this venue 8 months earlier and were the openers, so to be back so soon as the headliner was a special moment. This clip is the end of our song "XO" from that night. Our fans are the best!
Jonathan: This shot is of Joey and I in Niagara Falls opening for The Struts.
