Are you ready to join the bloominati? Anglo-Danish trio Off Bloom unveiled their 5-track Lover Like Me EP on Oct. 20, sending electro waves from their London homes to across the pond and beyond.
The record features a collaboration with heavyweight producer Hudson Mohawke on “rockefe11a (F**k That To Be Honest),” the infectious title track “Lover Like Me,” and more innovative, beat-centric electro-pop gems in between. The band shared on its making,
“This EP is about love, sex, frustration, intoxication and of course loyalty loyalty loyalty. It’s a culmination of tracks that came together at very different times of our lives, all representing what we were feeling at the time, but with a similar vibe running through them.
This group of songs represents the last 3-4 months of our lives - our ups and downs, our fuck-ups and successes, our loves and losses. We had an amazing time creating this EP and got to experience so much, and those experiences shaped the music, for instance working with our musical hero Hudson Mohawke. Really we just want to connect to the people listening to these tracks and hopefully some people will see themselves in them and in us and want to join the bloominati.“
Considering the anti-genre, eclectic nature of Lover Like Me, we asked Mette, Mads, and Alex of Off Bloom to share seven influences that contributed to its creation. Pick up your copy of Lover Like Me now, and read more on its making below.

Vera - “Falling”
Vera is an amazing, groundbreaking producer and songwriter a good friend who always inspire us with his unique and warm sound!
Rihanna - “Sex With Me”
She is one of our big idols and the laziness of this song and the way she sings, it is an insane combo.
TNGHT - “Higher Ground”
Hudson Mohawke has always been a huge inspiration for us! And the aggressive energy coming out in the TNGHT context and in this song just makes it an evergreen for us.
Toto - “Rosanna”
The sound and production is so sick. The very orchestral and theatrical way of writing songs is amazing. And then of course the famous Jeff Pocaro Shuffle stems from this track. It is lit!
Future - “Incredible”
Well Future has the most interesting voice. We are listening to his stuff all the time, but this one is really fucking sick. And also its really fun because it shows a really pop side of him.
Pusha T - “Numbers On The Board”
Because it is just sooooo sick!! We just went back and listened to this and remembered our reaction when it was released, we heard it constantly and talked about it and him. So clever and stupid at the same time.
AlunaGeorge - “I’m In Control”
This song has so much energy and cool sounds! George is a friend of ours and we are always inspired by his imminent production skills and feel for music.
