Singer, songwriter and producer Zach Hurd, known by the moniker Bay Ledges, is back with a video for his recent single, "Wherever You Sleep." You might know his 2017 release "Safe," which is currently at over 7 million Spotify plays and established his playful sound. The video for "Wherever You Sleep" features delightfully glitchy visuals and an "Endless Summer" feel, highlighting the sunniness of his single and his distinctly vintage vibe.
Bay Ledges specializes in pairing deeply personal vocals with vibrant, guitar-centric tracks, creating a dichotomy between the meaning of the song and the feeling it evokes. He commented on the contrast between sadness and optimism in both the single and the video, saying,
“I worked with artist Cale Potts on this video, he also did the cover art for the song. I liked the idea of using some old beach footage to give it an end-of-summer feeling… like a hazy memory. I went to a little beach just outside of LA to get some shots with photographer Lance Williams. It was on Labor Day too, so there really was this feeling in the air that this was the end of the season. As sad as some of the lyrics are in the song, the overall tone feels a bit optimistic and fun, to me… I like how the video mirrors that and doesn’t put you in some heavy place.”
Bay Ledges is embarking on a fall tour with Yoke Lore and Magic City Hippies, which includes stops in Los Angeles, Austin, San Francisco, Denver, Portland, Nashville, New York City and more. Check out his tour dates and grab your tickets to see him live!
