Ruel Announces Tour Dates & Incites an Ocean of Emotions with “Younger” Video

In only one short year, Ruel has accomplished more than some do in a lifetime. With his 2017 breakthrough single “Don’t Tell Me,” followed by the smashing success of his June 2018 debut EP Ready, Ruel proves that he has so much more to offer the world with heart wrenching video for “Younger” and announcement of his first North American tour.

Ruel’s “Younger” is a gem of a tune on its own, a pop-soul infused banger that will have you singing at the top of your lungs while waterfalls flow relentlessly from your eyes. And if we thought we were a pool of feels after hearing the track, we’ve become an ocean of emotions from watching the song’s touching visual companion. Directed by visual artist Grey Ghost, the video follows a short story, depicting two boys growing up and out of their friendship.

As the video progresses, the pair’s activities digress from shooting hoops to smoking stoges, revealing two distinct futures for our characters. An unwanted sexual advance insights an altercation between the former friends, leading to an unsuccessful robbery and an eventual moment of clarity. With a twist in narrative, we see how this isn’t a story of an ex-best friend who lost his way, but about battling with your own demons to discover your unique path.
