Calling all Florence Welch, Lana Del Ray, and Halsey fans: Laurel just dropped the video for her newest single, "Hurricane," and we're currently searching for plane tickets to jet off to London for the weekend.
The track plays out in the casual stop-motion music video that premiered today. For 2 & ½ minutes, viewers are taken inside the daily life of the Southampton songstress, who now resides in London. Laurel told V Magazine:
“I made this video with my friend Felix. We just messed around in the places we both liked to hang out. London has such an influence on my writing as it’s where I have existed for the last 4 years, so I really wanted to film there to show me in the places I often am; and get across the real essence behind the songs and me as a person."
"Hurricane" presents a change in sound for Laurel, as she moves towards an edgier vibe. The stunning transformation leaves us feeling more then impressed, considering Laurel wrote, produced, and mixed the track all on her own, as well as the rest of her new EP, Park, which will be released this November.
While we wait in anticipation for the EP, we'll be marking our calendar and adding this track to our weekend playlist.
