English singer and producer Jack Garratt does not hold back on sounding like he deliberately experimented with the sounds on his forthcoming Synesthesiac EP. The slowly building "Lonesome Valley" takes a minute before reaching its full effect, showcasing Garratt's strategic wit and love for jazz, soul, and big, wonky, distorted sounds. "The Love You're Given" is also a carefully planned out spectacular of soul and electronica, while EP opener "Synesthesia Pt. 1″ rolls out Garratt's vision from the seat of a piano before panning out to reveal a vast electronic landscape. Look out for Synesthesiac on April 13. In the meantime, stream the EP above (via Noisey) and watch our interview with Garratt at SXSW.
