slenderbodies has released the first single off their highly anticipated EP SORAYA, and it’s the dreamy, effortless treat we were hoping it would be. The California-based duo specializes in feel-good indie tracks and do all the writing, singing, production and mixing themselves. They recently toured with Mura Masa and Passion Pit, and will embark on a tour with Milky Chance in early September. They’re consistently well-received in the live sphere in addition to taking off digitally, as their debut single, “Anemone” has over 15 million collective streams.

“Take You Home” is a funk-infused bop with playful guitar licks and whispery vocals. It details a breezy trip through the streets at sunset, providing listeners with a blissful ending to a summer day. The single is successful in that the subject matter of the lyrics completely matches the overall vibe. slenderbodies commented on the meaning of the song, saying

“‘Take You Home’ is the story of a simple summer love. Any love is a bit complicated though, yet despite this we wanted to paint a picture of comfort and happiness as long as our two lovers are together on their sundown drive.”

If “Take You Home” is any indication of their forthcoming EP’s overall quality, we can hardly wait to get it added to our playlists.
