Handsome Ghost is no stranger to touring life, having spent time on the road with Misterwives, BØRNS, X Ambassadors, and plenty more. And to further add to the list, this past February saw the Massachusetts duo embark on a tour across North America with fellow Ones To Watch band flor. Yet before Handsome Ghost spent all their seeming waking hours on the road and crafting emotive electronic pop, it was the yet-to-be-realized reality of once folk-singer, philosophy-major, and English-teacher Tim Noyes. Perhaps it's that unconventional background that helps to explain why every track off the band's debut album, Welcome Back, feels perfectly poised to tug at your heartstrings.
Handsome Ghost's unique brand of electronic pop feels intimate, lush, and serves as the perfect backing soundtrack for these behind-the-scenes glimpses into touring life. Through the photos the band were kind enough to share with us, it's clear Handsome Ghost has a talent for not only music but photography as well. And for those of you who feel like you missed out on your chance to catch Handsome Ghost live, make sure to read all the way to the end to learn more about the band's upcoming headlining tour.
Phoenix, AZ - It’s always cool to see our name on the marquee. Neat!
Nowhere, ND - We drove out from the northeast to Seattle for the first show. Lots of snow.
Nowhere, ND - Our van had a killer Viking beard.
Seattle, WA - The famous gum wall. Saw a little girl steal a piece off the wall while her mom wasn’t looking. Should I have said something? She seemed pleased…
Phoenix, AZ - “Hey, Look cool” pt 1: Tim. It’s my ol friend Tim!
Chapel Hill, NC - “Hey, Look cool” pt 2: Austin. This is Austin our touring drummer. He’s the best.
Chicago, IL - flor getting set up for our show at Subterranean. Amazing musicians and the nicest dudes with the nicest crew.
Somewhere, IA - HG Band Rule: If you tell a really bad joke you get sent to the back bench of the van. I sit there a lot.
Seattle, WA - I wonder what was painted on the walls before they were covered. Probably something very pro-camping.
Brooklyn, NY - Our country is filled with wild animals. This is some type of jungle cat, I think.
I-25, CO - I like to think we have a bond with truckers on the road, but I think we’re probably just the annoying little siblings.
Seattle, WA - The three Ghost boys! But who took the photo?
