Lately, it seems as if Swedish pop has been having a field day in America. Lykke Li has had an amazing year with the release of her third album, Wounded Rhymes. On her tour for the album, Li brought out rising songstress Mapei, who made a stellar transition in crossing over from Swedish hip-hop into pop with her debut album Hey Hey this month. And of course, there is Tove Lo, whose unabashedly self-destructive confessional “Habits (Stay High)” has grown bigger and brighter with every alternative radio play. While the singer has penned songs for Icona Pop and Cher Lloyd, she is finally releasing her own debut album via Island Records. Make sure you stream it on iTunes First Play.
