If you have 34 minutes to spare today, we highly recommend watching the latest short film by music blog La Blogothèque. True to La Blogothèque form, the globe-spanning piece is shot using lo-fi production, producing raw and evocative live musical footage. The short is an homage to the jazz label Blue Note, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, featuring Ones To Watch artist Moses Sumney, Patrick Watson, Mondkopf, and Dirty Beaches’ Alex Zhang Hungtai performing their rendition of a classic jazz piece. Each segment opens with the artists reflecting on a specific music memory before performing an acoustic set. Order of appearances below:
1. Patrick Watson - “Summertime”
2. Moses Sumney - “Moanin”
3. Alex Zhang Hungtai - “Blue Train”
4. Mondkopf - “Turning Point”
