Dutch born, L.A. based artist Nick van Hofwegan of indie funk project Young & Sick is coming at us with more of his multi-faceted artistry. The second highly anticipated single to come off his upcoming No Static EP, "Letting Go Of Giving Up" is here to cheer us up and give us that extra push to accomplish our goals.
This year, Hofwegan had a lineup of shows, including SXSW and an upcoming headlining a show in Los Angeles this Wednesday, July 25. Get ready for an immersive experience, as Young & Sick not only showcases his music, but also original visual art.
Some of his first creative visual projects were for comedian Andy Dick and alternative band Foster the People. When Young & Sick released the first single "No Static" off the upcoming EP, he released a visual showing the process behind creating the artwork for the single.
Nick notes on "Letting Go Of Giving Up"'s inspirational undertone as a personal reminder,
“to not give up hope on making music and making art, even though there's low points and it gets a little harder."
The psychedelic single is filled with shimmering keyboard lines and clean production, boasting a carefree and light beat with a surprising sax feature at the end.
