Irish artist Dermot Kennedy has a way of grabbing listeners' attention with his emotionally-charged songs and strong vocal abilities. With the singer/songwriter's latest release "Outnumbered," a new pop-folk single, it's hard not to pay attention to the passionate music that he is creating.

"Outnumbered" is a raspy folk and pop fusion with a beat. The song has ringing guitar picking and spirited verses featuring Kennedy's fiery vocals. There's a switch in the song where a beat drops and claps onto Kennedy's voice. Kennedy experiments with R&B-influenced sounds in the song that lift up the mood and help his heartfelt vocals stand out in an explosive way.

Kennedy describes his latest track as a song that aims to comfort and act as a source of reassurance to those going through a hard time in their lives. He said "Outnumbered" is a song that reminds listeners that beauty is everywhere, no matter how dark life can get, and that hard times will pass eventually.
